Regarding current, look at it this way.
1. You have consumers and they tries to consume the current they needs.
2. And then you have producers (Power supplies, batteries and such) that can deliver current to consumers.
So if a consumer want more than a producer can deliver it is a NO go!
But if a Consumer can deliver more than the consumer can consume it is not a problem, the over delivery will not be consumed.

the pi zero 2w uses 2 Amps and 5v (5 volts is the regular voltage for all pi's)
