Hello, I recently ran into trouble with my RPI 4B. It worked fine for a while, I took it out of the case for the time being as I was waiting for a better case to arrive. My hand bumped into the pi while it was running and it looked like it was going to reboot. After waiting a while and restarting it manually a few times, the pi does not seem to boot. Both the red LED and the green ACT LED stay on constantly once power is connected. I tried starting with nothing connected but the power cable, however the problem did not seem to go away. I thought maybe the bootloader was corrupt but that also does not seem like the issue. Any advice on what I can do to troubleshoot this pi?

Where the hell did you touch it for that? My pi definitely doesn't have that issue, I can touch it wherever I like and not cause a short circuit or anything

Do you have a display and micro hdmi cable?
lazu.
I have no clue how it happened either, it was a slight bump which should not have affected it at all. I have never had this issue with any other pi so it is really weird.
lazu.
Yes I do have a display and microhdmi, but I just get no hdmi signal

Didn't fall? I mean maybe something like a capacitor fell off
k9t33n
Or are you extra conductive lol
lazu.
Nope, did not fall or something. I had it on top of the (old) case that in was in before.

I like to do absolutely everything from the start to rule everything out, are you ok with that? It is some effort
lazu.
I tried booting with a different cable, no luck with that either. I checked if there were any bent pins or a short somewhere else but there is nothing that catches my eye
lazu.
Completely fine! I am running out of options to try so would like to see if I covered everything haha

Ok first grab your SD card and go into the imager and select "erase" in the os section
k9t33n
Assuming you have an up to date imager

I have a <#1193641764330946741> on this if you need a step by step instruction but I think you can handle it
lazu.
Okay will get it checked out, I will check the faq if I get stuck but should be fine :)
lazu.
But wouldn't it boot without any sd card inserted? For the other pis it just shows that there is no sd card inserted (I do get hdmi signal for those)
Should do but sometimes people don't on here, i might be thinking of something else but it's always worth a shot to me
lazu.
Okay I will try it as soon as I am home

Sure

ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) can damage electronics and its sneaky it can cause damage thet will kill your electronics , now or within a day or week or years from now.
So NEVER touch exposed electronics!
And because you could touch it now and nothing happen isn't a proof that nothing has been damaged!

great to know and i wish i knew that sooner

I can show you that with a nylon stoking and a wool scarf...
