okay, so...I'm trying to make it so that I can access my pi remotely from Windows because I'm trying to add all my games back on there that I backed up from my Pi 3B...
however since I don't know what I'm doing, I got it working once I installed Samba and now I've locked myself out again...
what is happening?
I would just use Ubuntu and add the games that way but Ubuntu, when booted from a USB stick, keeps freezing up, my USB ports, my screen, everything, and I have to use the power switch to turn it off

Let's start from scratch
k9t33n
Reformat it be putting it in your computer and selecting "erase" in the os section of the imager
k9t33n
Then do it again and select Ubuntu
k9t33n
Before you write change your settings. Once youve done this come back to me so I can tell you what to change
dreamcastboy99
so you want me to follow the guide all over again?
why are you using ubuntu on the pi if you want retroepie?
k9t33n
this is also not the imager
k9t33n
have i misunderstood something?
dreamcastboy99
oh, pi imager, my bad
dreamcastboy99
I'm not, I'm using it on my PC booted directly from a USB to make filesharing easier but that can't be bc the damn thing locks up
dreamcastboy99
alright, so...y'know how Pi 5 doesn't have a RetroPie build yet and I have to install it manually?
dreamcastboy99
well, it didn't come with Samba sharing and I'd like to know how to enable it bc I installed it, it worked for a bit, and then I changed something and now I'm unable to access my Pi from my Windows PC
dreamcastboy99
if you want me to start over the first step says to do Raspberry OS Lite
