Hello everyone. I bought a raspberry pi 5 and it won't get past the boot screen. This is a photo of the screen when I have no SD card connected, and as far as I can tell it like fine.

This is what happens when I boot it up with a fresh SD card with the 64 bit OS burnt with the pi imagervideo

And this is the flashing that occurs, however I can't make heads or tails itvideo

Made some progress.

The Pi works on my computer monitor, so the pi itself and the SD card is fine,

but for some reason its just not recognising the TV

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm sorry late to reply, have you succeeded yet?
younglad
Im sorry for being even later to respond to you. But I've tried it out on my computer monitor and it worked perfectly,

I believe its to do with the TV being an older style TV, so maybe something gets lost in the handshake?

Old TVs is a common culprit in many forums.
One solution could be to force the auto detect by modifying config.txt and adding hdmi_force_hotplug=1 to it.

I have tried that, I've tried every resolution under sun, different frame rates, etc, and still nothing works
younglad
I did used to have a pi that worked on it, my raspberry pi 4 that came with a preloaded SD card at launch, and I never updated it, so maybe its something to do with how the new OS handles it?

The HDMI negotiation is done in the boot process before the OS takes over.
